How our Estate, Property, and Moving Clean Out Services work:
Important!! BEFORE you throw anything out, sell stuff, donate items, or rent a dumpster.... CAll US!! The items
you might be getting rid of could possibly earn you our services for FREE!! As we prorate the job based on the
value of the items you give to us, as it is compensation for the services we offer. In essence, you pay us with the
material items you no longer want, which credits and reduces the price of our services.
1. All YOU need to do is remove, or clearly mark, the items you want to keep... and then CALL US!!
That's it! Don't make it any harder on yourself than necessary!
2. Do NOT throw anything away!
3. Do NOT give (donate) any items!
4. Do NOT sell any items!
5. Do NOT get a dumpster!
6. Do NOT call any other services or charities to come pick items up. (we handle all the processing of the
entire clean out, including the donation processing, etc. We will let you know if the job would require another
service for specific items).
7. CALL US before you do anything listed in numbers 2-6.
Doing any of the things listed in numbers 2-6 could make a big difference in what it could cost you for the clean out services. So, in order for us to give the BEST rate, or possibly be able to offer our services for FREE, you need to follow the process to make sure it benefits you in the most beneficial way possible. When we come to do the free evaluation, we can discuss all of the above, and your situation, to see what the best thing for YOU would be. We want to make this as simple and easy as possible for you, while also trying to save you money!

We will come to your home or business to do a FREE evaluation. Please note (again): in order for you to get the BEST rate, it is important that you call us BEFORE throwing things away, selling items, donating stuff, or renting a dumpster. As we will prorate the value of the items and discount the cleanout service fee rate accordingly, based on the items given to us as compensation for our services. As these material things (which you no longer want) could be considered part of the payment for our services, if there are items that we considered saleable. So, following the list above could be a huge help for you.
Sometimes, if the items you are giving to us for our services, are valuable enough... you might even get our services for FREE!! Too often, and unknowingly, people end up giving away or selling all the the more valuable items, that could have earned them a significant discount on the cleanout services or perhaps gotten the job done for free. Don't make the mistake of doing this, as you might be giving away, or selling, the items that could get you these labor intensive services done for FREE!!
Many companies charge a minimum of $1,800 up to $12,000+ for typical estate, moving, or property clean out services. Some jobs, such as hoarder or squalor homes, can easily cost between $10,000 to $30,000+. With us, you have the potential to save a lot of money and stress... and perhaps get the job done for FREE!!
Another reason why you should call us FIRST, is because most of the other cleanout companies, and charities/non-profits will only accept (pick) a few of your best items... leaving you with a house full of hard-to-get-rid-of items that no one else wants and that donation places will not accept. Not us! We will do our very best to remove it all or close to it, IF we are called BEFORE you have another company pick through the items. It is also important to note that we have various resources and outlets. So, by calling us first, you only have to deal with ONE organization, and we do all the work for you! You won't have the hassle of packing, hauling, or donating the items to multiple places. Leave it all to us!!
All you have to do is take out any items you want to keep from the home, or set them aside (clearly marked). Then we will come in and pack and remove all unwanted items. We also remove all unwanted items from basements, garages, barns, sheds, attics, etc. We will donate, sell, repurpose, recycle, salvage, or dispose of the items, as necessary. We take everything from the smallest things (like paperclips and books) to the largest (like furniture, vehicles, and tractors) and everything in between!! We have different options to choose from in order to be able to remove everything that you want gone. We will discuss those options with you at the evaluation to see what would work best with your needs and situation.
When the family members need to settle an estate of someone who passed away... the family members can remove any items they want to keep from the estate. After everyone has removed the items out they want, we will come in and clean out the entire house and outbuildings, removing the items from the premises, so that you can move forward with selling or renting the house.
If you already had an estate sale, we will come and pack up and remove the remaining items leftover from the estate sale.
If you simply want to declutter or downsize and have items you want to get rid of... just gather up those items and call us. We will come and pick them up from your home, saving you the headache and time of having to haul them to donation centers. We just ask that it is a decent size load to make it worth the time and gas money.
We have various options for helping people with different needs and circumstances, so don't worry! Let us help you! We always try our very best to make the process stress free and as easy as possible!! We love what we do and we truly care about the people we help!!
* Note: Do not throw anything away! You might be throwing out items that someone else could use, or items that might be applied toward the cost of our services! Let us decide what is trash and what is useful. Some items that you may think are junk, may be valuable enough to get you the clean out services done for free! So, as any estate liquidation person or estate cleanout person will tell you... do NOT throw anything away or sell items before having an evaluation done. Let us do the work of deciding what is trash or not.
We make sure the items you get rid of directly help a variety of people! From Veterans, college students, low income people, single moms and dads, the women's shelter, children, the elderly, artist, dogs, cats, and so many more people and animals!!

Estate Cleanouts
• Estates: First, please accept our sincere condolences if you have lost a loved one. Losing a loved one is never easy. Not only is trying to cope with the grief and pain you feel difficult enough, but to also have to deal with the possessions left behind can be overwhelming, daunting, and emotionally draining as well. Most people have just a few items in mind that they like to keep for a memory of the person they lost. It is usually something that has a special meaning with a sentimental attachment. What's left after the family has picked their special items? A whole bunch of stuff that no one wants or needs, and that has no sentimental value to them. It is often far more stuff than they want to deal with.
This type of service, and moving cleanouts, are what we focus on and specialize in. You and your family simply remove any items that you want to keep (photos, personal belongings, etc.) then, we will come and remove all the remaining items left at the estate that you do not want... leaving the house emptied out and ready for you to either sell, move in, rent out, etc. If there is a lot of trash at the estate home, a dumpster may be necessary, at your expense. If the items we remove from the estate are of saleable value, you could get this huge clean out service done for FREE!! As we work on a sliding scale and most of the time the value of the items the people have us remove (which in essence is donated to Mother Declutter as payment for our services) earn them the clean out free of charge, other than a dumpster rental. We also donate a huge portion of the items we remove to directly help people and animals in the community.
* We also do Living Estate Cleanouts, which is listed below, under the Death Prep Cleaning category.

Death Prep Cleaning / Swedish Death Cleaning
Also known as Living Estate Cleanouts
• Death Prep Cleaning (Living Estate Cleanouts) : This is also known as, or similar to the, Swedish Death Cleaning. It is the process of cleaning out, decluttering, and organizing your stuff before you die. It is often done by people who are older, but it can be done by anyone, of any age, after all we never know when it will be our time to go. Many people are realizing that their children, grandchildren, and other family members do not want to inherit all their stuff. In many circumstances, inheriting a sizeable amount of items actually makes the grieving process far more difficult, not better.
Often, the family left to clean up all the mess and clutter get overwhelmed and even upset that the person left all their "junk". In most cases, the personal belongings meant more to the person who they belonged to, instead of the people who it was left to. This has motivated so many people to do Death Cleaning. They are going through their own items and getting rid of all the stuff they accumulated over many years. They don't want to burden their loved ones with cleaning up their clutter, or leave them with the cost and time involved of disposing of everything. Which can be very costly.
|
Sadly, many children and grandchildren are telling (or not telling) their parents and grandparents they are going to get a dumpster and throw the stuff out after they pass away. There is a whole new generation of youth who want to simplify, and do not hold the sentimental attachment to material things that past generations have, such as those who lived through the depression.
|
Many of the older adults have decided they don't want their personal belongings just thrown in a dumpster after they die. They would rather see someone who needs, wants, or could use the items to get it. So, they are having cleanout businesses like, Mother Declutter, come and get their belongings so they can make sure their stuff either gets sold to someone who truly wants it or donated to people in need, rather than seeing it go in a dumpster or landfill. This relieves the anxiety and worry, not only by the parents and grandparents, but also the children, grandchildren, and other family members.
Another kind of death prep cleaning is with cancer patients who have been diagnosed with terminal cancer with a limited time to live. They want to look through their items while they are still able, and relive the memories one last time. They choose to declutter and give away their belongings themselves. Some say it gives them closure before saying their final goodbye.
Good Deed Decluttering - The Gift of Giving
• Good Deed Decluttering: This is a wonderful way for anyone in any economic, or social class, to give back to the community, in order to help low income families, those who suffered a tragedy, or simply a way to brighten someone's day with a good deed, no matter what their status is. You declutter, clean-out, and giveaway items you no longer want or need. We pick up those items and sort, clean, and designate where the items would go based on the needs.
One of the things we did at Christmas time was wrap some preowned items in Christmas wrapping paper and wrote boy, girl, man, woman, grandparent, etc. along with the appropriate age range of the gift. We then took those gifts to the parking lot at the Salvation Army and Goodwill. When people came there to shop we passed out those wrapped gifts.
|
We told them the items were preowned and used. They were just as thankful, as if you gave them something brand new. They were able to participate in the giving and receiving of gifts without having to spend what little money they had. Their money could then be used for food, diapers, medications, and their bills instead. The final stop we made was dropping off gifts to the Saginaw Rescue Mission.
|
Our kids saw first hand the appreciation and love from the people who received the items. We had people standing in the parking lot hugging us while crying tears of joy and thankfulness. Not only was it a blessing for them, but even more so for us. The gift of giving and spreading joy with love never fails. This is just one avenue of how your unwanted items can help spread joy to grateful hearts.
|
We also donated items to a church who screen low income people and their circumstances. They set up tables with the items and allow the parents to come and pick out gifts (for free) to give to their children for Christmas. The children are also allowed to go into a different room and pick out a gift for their parents and/or grandparents to give them for Christmas. Even though many of the items are used, the gratitude and joy is overflowing.
|
Both the parents and the kids are so thankful to be able to give a gift on Christmas Day. Sometimes the kids would tell the church staff how their mom really needed new pans, or shoes, or how their dad needed some gloves, or a tool to fix things around the house. The parents would often comment how their kids have outgrown their clothes or shoes and needed some that fit, or how they would like some books to read or toys to play with.
Mother Delcutter also does FREE sales (or giveaways) in parking lots and we do FREE estate sales at some of the homes we are cleaning out. Where everything is FREE!!! We also give away items on Facebook too! Be sure to check out our Facebook Page to see some of the free events we have done. Also, if you follow us on Facebook, you will get notifications when we advertise more free events!
Moving
• Moving: The best time to declutter when moving is before you move. You have less to pack and unpack, and you will be able to do the move in less trips or with a smaller truck, thus saving you time and money. However, sometimes circumstances don't allow you the time to declutter before moving, in which the next best option would be to declutter while unpacking. We will pickup the unwanted items either before or after your move... making your move, packing, and unpacking smooth and avoiding the headache of finding a spot for things you don't want. We accept small items to large (like furniture).
Baby Readiness
• Baby Readiness: Congratulations to the new parents!! Baby Readiness decluttering helps you make room for your growing family, and welcome your new baby (or two or three) into your clutter-free home. Getting rid of all your unnecessary items makes room for all the baby furniture and necessities, including a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment. New parents will be busy enough enjoying the arrival of their new blessing, so cleaning out at least a couple months before baby arrives is recommended. If labor starts early... you are ready!
• Empty Nest: The kids moved out. Now you have extra space to make a room for your crafts and projects, or maybe a man cave or woman cave (lady throne or she shed), perhaps a guest room, etc. When kids move out they have a tendency to leave unwanted stuff behind. This is a perfect time for you to clean out their stuff, and your stuff too, so you can make good use of that extra space! Perhaps you have a remodeling project in mind since a portion of the house is emptied out. Now is the perfect opportunity for major house cleaning, decluttering, or home improvement projects.
Downsizing ~ Living Simple and Stress Free with Less
• Downsizing: Maybe you just feel the need to downsize and simplify your life. Whether you have a little bit or a lot of stuff, you can probably think of several items you have been meaning to donate, but haven't yet. Stuff that you are no longer interested in. Stuff you no longer use, need, or want, like collections or knick-knacks, pots, pans, dishes, toys, tools, arts and crafts, clothes, etc. Living simple gives you a chance to reduce the amount of items you are holding onto, but don't use, allowing you to organize the stuff worth keeping, and function in a smooth and productive manner. It makes things easier to find, saves you time and energy, and it reduces stress while giving you happiness and peace.
Foreclosures, Vacant Houses, Rentals,
and Pre-sale Real Estate Cleanouts
• Foreclosures, Vacant Houses, Rentals, Pre-sale cleanouts: If you are a landlord or home owner who needs a house cleaned out so you can get it rented out or put it up for sale, we have services that can help get the job done! The longer a house sits empty, the more money you lose and the greater chances of it being vandalized. We get the house (or duplex) cleaned out and ready so you can sell it or rent it out.
REALTORS and HOMEOWNERS getting ready to sell: Before you throw anything away, sell your items, or give things away, be sure to call us to see if the items could be credited toward you getting our clean out services at a discounted rate, or possibly even free. You simply remove the items you want to keep, or clearly mark them so we know which items do not go, then we will remove any of the items from the home that you want gone! In some cases a dumpster may be necessary, which would be at your expense. We have worked with numerous realtors and real estate companies, and we are also on the list of trusted businesses within the real estate community. We can also give you a referral to a realtor if you need one.

• Divorce: Many times both people involved go through a major decluttering process because they both want to move forward, and it gives them a cleansing feeling of a new beginning. Once you have legally settled and divided up your belongings, and are ready to get rid of the remaining items that are no longer wanted, we can pick them up.
Small Businesses or Offices
• Small Businesses or offices: You might be closing your business, moving it, or remodeling. Either way, we can clean out the stuff you want to get rid of. Cleaning out the building allows you to get any damage deposits back and avoid clean up fees. If you own the building, the faster you get it cleaned out, the sooner you can sell it or rent it out.
Left Over Garage, Yard, and Estate Sale Items
• Left Over Sale Items: Did you have a garage, yard, or an estate sale and are now stuck with a bunch of items that didn't sell? No problem! We would gladly save you time by picking them up so you do not have to hassle with getting rid of them.
Collections / Collectibles
Decluttering Donations and Buy Outs
We love when people donate full or partial collections to us. They are items that would be greatly treasured by another collector, saved from landfills, and repurposed. Best of all, we have donated and sold various items to restaurants, historical societies, museums, unique tourist places, the Library of Congress, and more! All of which would be honored to add your collections to their displays for safe keeping and for people to admire while they travel.
You do not have to worry about cleaning, sorting, or boxing up the collectable items that you donate to us. We will remove them for free and we do all the labor such as: boxing them up, hauling, cleaning, and finding a new home for the items by listing or donating them.
There are times when people want to sell their collections rather than donate them, so there are occasions when we do "Buy-Outs" of entire or partial collections. There are specific items at certain times of the year when we buy different types of collections, which are based on demand.
If by chance the collection is not one we are interested in buying at that time, we might be able to get you in contact with a collector or business who may be interested in buying from you. So, it never hurts to inquire with us about your collection.

Medical and Health Related Decluttering
• Medical and health Related Decluttering: There are people who have been diagnosed with cancer and expressed their issues that the cancer made them realize how much more important people and relationships are in life instead of material things. How they wished they would have done more things like vacations, etc. and actually enjoyed living, rather than collecting or hoarding stuff. The personal possessions they once delighted in, worried about, and cared so much to protect and collect suddenly became last on their list of things that made them happy. It actually made them sad, stressed, and miserable.
They admitted the material things brought them more stress than joy. They reflected back on their life and realized it was the moments that took their breath away, the laughing so hard you cry, the connections with people they care about, the traveling, and enjoying the little things that we often take for granted. Those things gave their life meaning and fulfillment, not the material things.
Perhaps you too have thought about those things, or maybe you have a medical issue that has made it difficult for you to manage all of the clutter and belongings you have. Whether you have arthritis, back issues, had a surgery, a stroke, cancer, or other medical issues which have you limited on what you can, or can't do, cleaning out clutter will help make room for you to get around better and safely. It will also allow you to adapt your home with wheelchair ramps, handles, etc. to meet your medical needs and functions better. The less clutter you have, the safer it will be for you or your loved one.

Clutter / Hoarding / Squalor
Please visit the "Clutter / Hoarding / Squalor" page (located in the tab menu at the top of the website). There you will learn about the different types and levels of clutter, including the more extreme cases of hoarding and squalor. There are also several pictures shown under each category.
We might be interested in buying some items from you! Maybe you need some extra cash for bills, a wedding you are saving up for, college expenses, a vacation or special event, or you just have a few items you want to sell.
You can send us a text message with a few good and clear photos, along with the following information: brand name, what the item is, if it works or needs repair, if it is complete or missing pieces, model numbers (if available), and any other details and information. We will message you back and let you know if it is something we are interested in buying from you, along with our offer price.
The offers we make will be a calculated percent of the item's Fair Market Collectible Selling Value. Those values are based on several factors, including but not limited to, demand, rareness, the condition of the item, and actual sold prices (as any seller can ask any price they want, but that does not determine the true value. The sold price is what counts, since that is what people are actually willing to pay). We always do our best to be as fair as possible, however we have to be able to make a profit, including compensation for the selling fees we have to pay, plus our time and work that goes into the process of preparing and selling the items. The market fluctuates on a regular basis so on certain items which have a tendency to drop in value, we have to offer on the conservative side.
The good thing is you get money in your pocket immediately, you get rid of something you don't want or need, and you don't have to deal with the hassle of cleaning, fixing, researching, listing, packaging, shipping, dealing with buyers and the seller feedback, etc. which saves you a lot of time and money.
